People who want most resistance from a bag…

Century Wavemaster XXL

Training Quality Rating: 9.0 / 10.0

Warranty: 1 year

Weight: 270 Lbs. (can be filled with water or sand)

Height: 69”

Exclusive Features

  • Durable vinyl as cover material
  • 1-year warranty
  • Has the most striking surface
  • Good rebound rate
  • Provides a lot of resistance

This bag is sturdy and even after years it still will give the same punching experience and rebound rate. With that Wavemaster XXL has the MOST striking surface among all other bags on the market. It will provide a good workout because you don’t have to aim you just need to strike. It is literally that big. This can be minus if you want to improve your precision. However, this feature makes this bag perfect for training.

It also gives the MOST resistance. This bag will challenge you and if you have a hard time you can always empty it a couple of Lbs. then continue training with it. Even though it provides a lot of resistance the filler is not rough so when you wear good gloves for heavy bag your hands won’t be sore after sessions.

With that, some bags won’t give optimal rebound rate when these are not full however it is simply is not the case with Century XXL. Thanks to all of these reasons Wavemaster XXL is very good for sweaty and rough training sessions.

  1. Hi,

I am interested in buying a punching bag that is extra durable and will last a long time since I’ve had issues with durability in the past. Between the Outslayer and the Century, which one would you recommend for the maximum amount of years of daily usage? Thanks!

    1. Well that is a very good question Jude. If you consider durability then go with Outslayer. I train with Century’ other free standing bag and it gives truly amazing training sessions. But I don’t think Century can give 10 years of usage.

  2. Since I’m a boxing fan and I still train from time to time, I’ll pass on the first option, but the second sounds really great (Outslayer) with a very good price tag on it and a 10-year warranty! Is it a good choice for a boxer or do you recommend something else? Thanks

    1. First one can also be used for boxing but Outslayer is very good choice if you only do boxing training and it has amazing price and long warranty as you said. If you do boxing only in my opinion Outslayer will be my first choice as well.

  3. I do a little mixed martial arts. Which of these bags would be good for not only punching, but kickboxing as well?

    1. Century Versys will be a great choice for MMA. You can kick it and even do some MMA style striking techniques.

  4. Thank you for your great review! Have to admit that I’m not an expert for punching bags. However, comparing these punching bag features, I have noticed that Outslayer Heavy Punching Bag has the fantastic 10-year warranty (!) On the other hand, other punching bags have (only) 4-month or 1-year warranties. My choice would be just mentioned punching bag, due to its good features, great warranty, and logical price.
Thanks again for the valuable info!

    1. Actually, considering my experiences, Outslayer might be the most preferred one and it is just top-notch so you can’t go wrong with it ; )

  5. The Outslayer punching bag looks like the real deal to me. Its height is very appealing and the fact that you can adjust it according to your needs makes it perfect. The Century Versys is good but the 1-year warranty makes me prefer the Outslayer at any time. I am getting myself one before the end of the year.

    1. If you are looking the warranty periods then yeah going with Outslayer makes sense. The shell also will not get old any time soon. If you don’t mind me asking, are you buying this for your gym as well? Since I remember this from your other comment and if it is the case, this bag would be a really good fit.

  6. I remember the first time I used a punching bag. I though it would be easy…..I was sooo wrong. It is a fantastic workout.

What kind of punching bag would you recommend for someone who lives in a small apartment? I’m thinking storage space and somewhere to actually use it, without breaking my TV.

    1. After I had my punching bag training, my shoulder was killing me. I remember that my should muscle were incredibly sore and I even had a hard time to move it on the following day. Freestanding punching bags can move a lot since these are not heavy and create problems in small spaces. So you can get a wall mount and one of the hanging heavy bags like Everlast.

  7. Hi
Wow! what a review on punch bags. Too many choices each bag is different in it’s own way. I am a beginner and don’t understand the different types of bag. My mind is telling me to go for the Outslayer.

Which bag would you recommend for basic use for both hands and legs?

    1. You should trust your instincts and buy Outslayer lol. But I am serious you will be pleased with your choice and you can increase the weight as you get stronger over the years. I am guessing that you want to get it for improving your physical condition. Then increase the weight whenever the bag does not challenge you. It has a great capacity and I guarantee that you will ever need a full bag in your life.
