Overviews of Cheap MMA Headgear for Budget Buyers!

Even though you need to get a good MMA headgear for protecting your head, it does not need to have a really expensive price tag. It just needs to do the job just fine, provide good vision without any discomfort.

There are many really low-quality headgears on the market, however, there are actually many quality and cheap MMA headgears on the market as well and in this short writing, you can find the reviews of these.

Note: The headgears on this list have great fitting rates and I also have good sparring experiences with one of them!

Venum Challenger 2.0

an overview of a cheap headgearProtection Rating: 8.9 / 10.0

Training Quality and Vision Rating: 9.2 / 10.0

Durability: 8.5 / 10.0

Comfort: 9.0 / 10.0

Quality / Price Rating: 9.2 / 10.0

As you may know, Venum is one of the leading MMA equipment companies out there and has pretty solid headgears on the market and Challenger 2.0 is one of them. This one has very lightweight and has a good padding quality. It actually uses the same padding type of a top-notch Venum headgear (Elite) and this is why it can have a lightweight and protect your head at the same time. Skintex is a decent cover material for a headgear and it gets B for the durability.

Ringside Competition Boxing Muay Thai MMA

alternative affordable MMA headgearProtection Rating: 8.6 / 10.0

Training Quality and Vision Rating: 8.8 / 10.0

Durability: 8.7 / 10.0

Comfort: 8.6 / 10.0

Quality / Price Rating: 9.9 / 10.0

It is actually made according to contours of the human face and in my opinion, this is why it gets amazing feedback for fitting from various MMA forums. And it has genuine leather and honestly guys, it is incredibly hard to find a quality headgear, which is in this price range, which is made of real leather

It has foam and it is softer than usual. With that, this headgear has literally no break-in period and it is a plus!

Ringside is also USA Boxing approved and if you plan on competing in MMA and you are on a budget, it is a solid option.

Considering that you get good protection and durability, Ringside has an amazing quality-price ratio. In my opinion, it also looks really cool.

ARD Leather Art MMA

Protection Rating: 8.4 / 10.0

Training Quality and Vision Rating: 8.1 / 10.0

Durability: 8.5 / 10.0

Comfort: 8.3 / 10.0

Quality / Price Rating: 9.3 / 10.0

As you may know, I do MMA training and I have experiences with ARD Leather which is the only headgear on the list which I have experiences with. Firstly, it has an average weight and even though I have a big head (especially sides) I felt comfortable enough with the design. The company says that it has foam, however, I felt like the filler material is some kind of blend and not exactly foam. However, it did the job just fine. After my sparring buddy kicked me with his shin guard, which happened many times, I could still see clearly.

Basically, it did not slide much.

It also has a removable grill and when you use it, it covers your entire face, however, there are many people who don’t prefer using it. So according to your preference, you can use it or take it off. As a final note, ARD Leather Art MMA gets rid of moisture at a decent rate and overall I can give this headgear B.

Sanabul Essential Professional

Protection Rating: 8.0 / 10.0

Training Quality and Vision Rating: 8.1 / 10.0

Durability: 7.8 / 10.0

Comfort: 8.3 / 10.0

Quality / Price Rating: 9.1 / 10.0

The cheek part is a bit above and as you can guess it just protects cheek area better and after you have an impact in this area, this design is known to distribute to shock better throughout the filler material which is foam. This foam is actually company’s foam and even it has less density in some areas (sides), it does the job just fine and protects your head!

This headgear is a bit tighter than usual and it has decent fitting reviews.

As a side note, guys it has a really affordable price. If you are interested, have a look at the most recent price on Amazon. According to a myriad of forum posts, many budget buyers are satisfied with Sanabul. As you may know, Sanabul always (as far as I know) targets budget buyers and thanks to that, the company found a place in the market a long time ago.

Basically, if you don’t want to spend a lot of money, Sanabul Essential Professional is seriously a good option.

Final Thoughts

These MMA headgears have way better feedback than many other headgears which have cheap price tags. With that, Venum Challenger 2.0 has top-notch padding and design. Only cover material quality is slightly lower than high-end MMA headgears so you get to experience amazing protection without breaking the bank. If these are appealing to you, just have a look at Venum Challenger on Amazon. And in my opinion, it looks really awesome.

Be Careful about these: Many headgears, which are in this price range, have slipping issues. So after a hard blow, you may not see clearly. There is also a foam issue as well. The foam can soften and let you feel the impact without absorbing it! And as you can guess there can be horrible consequences for it. So while you are tight on a budget and think of getting protective equipment like a mouth guard, headgear, shin guards… for your MMA training you need to be even more careful!

These headgears are sold a lot and have pretty decent reviews all over the internet. As you may have read it above I also trained with one of these and I have no complaints other than sometimes it got hot. And I just loved the coverage and shock absorbing qualities. Anyway, I really hope that you enjoyed reading these overviews and found an affordable MMA headgear and if you have any questions or want to know about any headgear model, just have a comment below and I will reply to you as soon as I can!
