Fairtex Boxing Gloves Review, Are These any Good?

As you may know there are lots of glove designs. Some of them are Mexican, Japanese. And there is also Thai style. I personally really like Mexican and Japanese and I know that so MANY people just love Thai design. With that Fairtex has some very quality and affordable (cheaper than same quality rivals) pairs. And if you like Thai style then pairs below are just for you 😉 You can also see a sizing chart for these pairs.

Let’s start Fairtex Boxing Gloves Review with the best one…

Fairtex Boxing Training Gloves

Protection Rating: 9.0 / 10.0

Heavy Bag Training Quality Rating: 9.0 / 10.0

Sparring Training Quality Rating: 8.5 / 10.0

Durability: 8.5 / 10

Quality / Price Rating: 9.6 / 10.0

Best Place to Buy: Amazon

Pros

  • Very quality choice for punching bag
  • Suitable for all training types
  • Quality leather
  • Great quality price ratio
  • Quality thermal regulating features
  • Lasts around 2 years
  • LOTS of color selection

Cons

  • Break in period

This pair is made for all training types and you can use it in heavy bag, double end bag, focus mitts… with that its padding is hard and can hurt your sparring partner. So if you do sparring I strongly recommend you to get 16 oz.

With that it is ideal for punching bag and this quality padding won’t move a lot. So after you punch heavy bag, the padding will move very little and will give quite decent training performance. Let’s not forget that this pair will secure your wrists quite well. Actually all Fairtex pairs get good reviews about security for wrist part.

I know many pairs, which are made in Thailand, give more than your money’s worth and have great thermal regulation. Very good example for that is Boon. It has also all of these features as well. With that Fairtex has break in time and you will start getting very quality punching experience after 5 months. This pair also has an incredible price. Can you find other pairs, which have same quality, in this price range? Well there is only one pair which I think that it matches the quality of Fairtex and it is Venum Elite. However it has synthetic leather and won’t last as long as Fairtex. So Fairtex has seriously a giant step of its rivals, which are in same price rage, about durability.

When you go to amazon or any boxing forums you will see extremely HIGH ratings. The reason is that these buyers already tried other pairs before Fairtex and they know that they got an amazing for a quality pair. If you like Thai style and looking for quality, affordable pair then Fairtex Boxing Training Gloves are just made for you. It is TRULY the best pair of Fairtex. It is also very easy to wear and take it off.

You can get the pair according to sizing chart below. It has also MANY colors including orange, white and blue.

Note: All pairs on this list are training pairs and you can do all training types including pad work, punching bag, sparring and double end bag training. You can choose all pairs on this list according to the sizing chart above.

Fairtex Muay Thai Boxing Gloves. BGV1-BR Breathable

Protection Rating: 9.0 / 10.0

Heavy Bag Training Quality Rating: 9.0 / 10.0

Sparring Training Quality Rating: 7.8 / 10.0

Durability: 8.5 / 10

Quality / Price Rating: 9.1 / 10.0

Pros

  • Quality leather
  • Great quality price ratio
  • Suitable for all training types
  • Incredible thermal regulating features
  • Lasts around 2 years

Cons

  • Lack of padding at upper side of the pair
  • Longer break in time

This pair is made after the first pair and it is supposed to be “better”. Actually it is better in some ways but it has also worse points. As you may understand from the name it has better air circulation so your hands will be even more comfortable and this pair is also made of genuine leather.

It has more padding quantity at the front side and it gives great heavy bag training performance. I actually have no clue about why they change the padding quantity however it makes this pair’s break in time longer. And it has less padding at outside of palm area.

So when you do sparring upper side of your hands can be sore. Because sometimes you will block your partner with upper side of your glove. It is obviously a minus and you should definitely consider it if you will do sparring. However if you don’t do sparring and do heavy bag, focus mitts etc. it will give you better training performance than the first one. As you know it has less padding at the upper side and your punches will certainly be faster and more powerful. So BVG1-BR Breathable is a really quality choice with its good price.

Which Pair is for you?

If I were to pick Training gloves or BVG1-BR Breathable, my definite choice would be Fairtex Training Gloves since you will have fairtex boxing gloves reviewstart having quality and normal punching experience sooner. In my opinion it is more important than “more comfort”. And let’s not forget that it will give pain free sparring sessions.

It is actually a personal choice and some people can prefer 1 month longer break in period, better punching bag and double end bag training performance. Then BVG1-BR Breathable can be your new pair and both of these pairs have amazing price and great quality price ratio. You will literally get more than what you pay and this is the thing about Fairtex. For example Rival has seriously amazing pairs yet it has also terrible gloves as well. However I am sure that if you buy Fairtex you will be pleased with your choice.

About Fairtex

Fairtex has many great pairs, uses quality genuine leather and these gloves have affordable prices. Also almost all Fairtex pairs on the market give quality training performance. Of course some are better than others.

These are all good but I am pretty sure that company can produce GREAT heavy bag pairs. The reason is that their gloves’ padding glove quality is top notch and this feature has vital importance for heavy bag session. I really would love to see that company produces heavy bag pairs with an affordable price 😉

Also all Fairtex pairs (as far as I know) are velcro including gloves on this list.

I hope you enjoyed reading Fairtex Boxing gloves review and if you have any questions about these pairs or anything to share, please leave a comment below.

Are these unisex gloves? wow…interesting. I had no idea so much goes into picking the gloves. The difference alone in punching bags is astonishing. I do however feel it’s a unique way of working out and find it interesting. Thanks a lot for the review.

    • Furkan says:

Yes these can be used by females and males. There are some differences and I love the heavy bag training as well 🙂
      And you are welcome.

if only the Fairtex BGV1- BR had padding on the upper side. They would be the best of all time

    Another great article!

I think I’m going to go for the Fairtex training gloves. Like you said the only downside is the breaking in period. Is there any way to speed this up?

This is really cool. I have a 15 year old son and he really is starting to get into boxing and I think he wants to take it serious. He is always running around the house doing shadow boxing and other boxing drills. He’s currently using these old boxing gloves that I bought him two Christmases ago. They’re tearing and worn out. So I am currently looking around for some new gloves for him, but they are so many to choose from. This review really helped me make my decision and definitely going to check these out.

    • Furkan says:

It is the perfect age to get serious and he has already some experience under his belt. So he won’t be in shock when he will be in the ring.
Doing shadow boxing at home is a great way to practice boxing. I always include shadow boxing in my training routine at home since there is nothing much in my home for boxing training.
Also, nowadays many gloves on the market are garbage and become useless in two years so you made the right call.

Thanks for your boxing glove review. About the only time that i’ve used boxing gloves was in the Navy, and we didn’t get a choice of size or weight. We just put on what they had and whaled away at each other. My question is, does the weight of the glove refer to how many ounces the whole glove weighs, or does it have something to do with the amount of padding in the glove?

    • Furkan says:

I understand man. At least you trained boxing but it is honestly not the safest way to train…
It depends on your weight (hand size) and yes, this also increases the padding quantity so your hands, wrists will be protected better.
Also, Fairtex Gloves generally have a quite stiff padding so the impact reaches your knuckle less.
