  • Ideal for ALL training types including bag and pad work
  • Very good choice for punching bag training
  • Have all safety features and very quality wrist support
  • Layers of quality padding
  • The most quality and sturdiest MMA gloves on the market
  • Many professionals and amateur fighters train with it
  • Antibacterial and anti-odor materials are used
  • Cool looks and gloves feel “natural”

Firstly; MMA gloves, which are made of genuine leather, generally have incredible padding quality. Because the padding should outlast the cover material. Otherwise, it is not worth it. There are only a couple of MMA gloves which can achieve that and the best one is Hayabusa Leather Kanpeki Elite. The layers of padding distribute the shock well and it also delivers the shock quite well. You will notice that the bag swings more with this glove. Actually, I have the same experience with Hayabusa Boxing Gloves as well. Apparently, the company knows how to use every padding type.

The genuine leather construction is really solid and many people on MMA and Martial Arts forums have been doing training with it for years. So considering these I can say that, the durability is just superb and it can take a constant punishment for years.

Also, the genuine leather provides a good amount of stretching. It is not much and it is definitely not less. This provides you to grapple better.

As you may know that the genuine full grain leather also helps to improve the durability. Seriously, you can’t expect anything more from this full grain leather and I probably read more than 25 reviews which are really satisfied with it.

Hayabusa Leather Kanpeki Elite has a pretty good wrist support and it is a bit bulkier than usual. However thanks to “lighter” padding, your punching speed and power will be actually more than normal and this is why this glove has a pretty huge advantage and thanks to the quality padding and bulky wrist support, heavy bag will swing more and you will be safe at the same time. I am really sure that you will love punching the heavy bag with it. Also, the padding also protects your knuckles well so you don’t get any cuts after a heavy bag session. Actually, it is a really common problem and vinyl (low-quality) ones always cause that and I seriously hate it.

It also provides just enough space for your fingers to grapple and the fitting rate of this MMA glove is quite high. So when you wear it, it won’t move around or won’t be too tight.

According to my researches (lots of forum posts, verified purchase reviews etc.), many people and authoritative figures in MMA consider Hayabusa Leather Kanpeki Elite MMA Gloves as the best. Thanks to antibacterial and anti-odor features, if you take care of it well, you can punch with it for a very long time without any odors 😉 Also, in my opinion, it looks really cool with brown color.

As a side note, many verified buyers say that the palm part fits very well and it is not so tight around that area. You will feel definitely comfortable with palm compartment and flexibility of it. Also Chael Sonnen, Rory Macdonald (professional Fighters) also use Hayabusa for their regular training sessions.

Note: Considering that you train regularly, you will have 2-3 weeks to break-in them fully. Actually, it is a really short period. As you may know, there are many MMA gloves which have 2 months of break-in period and have half durability period of Hayabusa Leather Kanpeki Elite.

Hayabusa Tokushu Regenesis MMA Gloves Product Overview

Hayabusa Tokushu Regenesis MMA Gloves ReviewProtection Rating: 9.5 / 10.0

Training Quality Rating (Grappling and Padding): 9.3 / 10.0

Durability: 8.7 / 10.0

Quality / Price Rating: 9.2 / 10.0

  • Very good design (Improved curving)
  • Ideal for all training types including bag and pad work
  • Have all safety features and quality wrist support
  • Layers of padding
  • Very quality choice for punching bag training
  • I used it and am extremely satisfied with it
  • Antibacterial and anti-odor materials are used

  • Not made of genuine leather

All Hayabusa MMA gloves have the same padding and it is top notch. So if you do pad work or heavy bag training, this one will give you solid training performance. However, when you grapple, the synthetic leather doesn’t have good flexibility as genuine leather and this just does not give you the same training performance. This is the first negative side of synthetic leather. Secondly, even though the durability of Hayabusa Tokushu MMA Gloves is good, still it is less than genuine leather gloves.

So who should buy Hayabusa Tokushu? Thanks to quality foam, you will get really smooth punching experience. So if you do mostly focus mitt training and bag work, then it is a quality choice for you. However, if you do mostly grappling and want a really sturdy glove, then you should go with Hayabusa Leather Kanpeki Elite (the pair above).

The curvature does not push your fingers (inside or outside) so when you do grappling or punching, you don’t feel any “extra” tension and it is a huge plus.

Even though the synthetic leather will lose the stretching ability in future until then you can do quality ground work.

It is also made of these fancy antibacterial and anti-odor materials so as other Hayabusa MMA gloves, you get premium comfort and hygiene as well.

My Experiences: I also trained with Hayabusa Tokushu in Thailand and mostly punched the focus mitts with it. I always felt that my wrists are safe and it fitted me very well. I used only two MMA gloves before however, I can easily say that I punched faster with Tokushu Regenesis. Shortly it is a quality pair of MMA gloves with synthetic leather. Hayabusa Ikusa MMA Gloves Product Overview

Hayabusa Ikusa MMA Gloves ReviewProtection Rating: 9.2 / 10.0

Training Quality Rating (Grappling and Padding): 8.8 / 10.0

Durability: 8.7 / 10.0

Quality / Price Rating: 9.5 / 10.0

  • Good design and padding quality
  • Suitable for all training types including bag and pad work
  • Have all safety features
  • Layers of padding
  • Cheapest quality glove on the market

  • Not real leather

Hayabusa Ikusa has a cheaper price tag and even though it has good padding quality, which absorbs the shock well and delivers it well, some qualities are just average.

Firstly it is not made of genuine leather and obviously, you can’t expect to use this pair for a long time. Secondly, due to design, the finger mobility is less than other MMA gloves on this list. With that, it is still not bad, but it is average.

The padding does the job fine. You can do punch mitt training or bag work with it and get smooth punching experience.

Also, the velcro closure stabilizes your wrists and you will feel confident with it. Also, keep in mind that all Hayabusa MMA gloves have same padding quality. So you will be safe with this pair as well. Only negative side for safety is that the synthetic leather does not distribute the shock well after a certain point. So you should consider this before buying it.

Price: If you are tight on a budget and mostly want to do pad work and heavy bag sessions, then Hayabusa Ikusa is suitable for you. Go on Amazon for the price.

Very Important Note: There are many gloves out there which have not passed official regulations and these can jeopardize your health. With that, all Hayabusa Gloves (on this list) have passed it.

Final Thoughts

Well, I did many researches about the products and had punched the mitts quite some time with one of them. According to these, I can say that Hayabusa is a brand which you can trust. All MMA gloves in this list have excellent padding. However, thanks to genuine leather, slightly better finger mobility and better shock absorption, Hayabusa Leather Kanpeki Elite is simply the most quality gloves on the market. This MMA glove gets excellent feedbacks on forums and seriously it should be your first choice. If you are interested, have a look at the price on Amazon. 1. It is not easy to choose a good pair of gloves. I think that I will go with your top recommendation the Hayabusa Leather Kanpeki Elite gloves.

    But I have one question.

Do you recommend it for beginners also or should I look other alternatives?

    1. Yes, beginners can also use it. You can do all training types with and it has a pretty solid wrist support. o considering that you are a beginner you won’t have proper form all the time and Kanpeki Elite will protect you from injuries as well.

  2. I didn’t know how much gloves were so important with MMA. It’s nice to which ones are best and can withstand a lot of usage.

    1. Hi Kasey
Hayabusa Kanpeki series is quite good and considered as “the best” by many authoritative figures and these can take a lot of punishment for years.

  3. Dude these are legit. I’ve used some of these before, and my homie just bought some, we should have found this first lol. But either way this is great. Nice job.

  4. I love the look of these gloves. The Leather looks to be of high quality.
This leads me to my question. The leather looks like it will outlast the padding, is that so?
If that is true are there ways to replace the padding or is it customary to just purchase new gloves.

    1. Japanese design is eye-catching and colors look really flashy. These pairs certainly look cool. Yeah, the leather is quite dense and quite thick.
And I checked out many reviews and many people used this pair until it is useless and generally, the padding lasted more.
No, you definitely need to purchase a new pair when that happens.

  5. I’m liking most of the reviews about the gloves mentioned in your article.
The Hayabusa Leather Kanpeki gloves look like a great pair of gloves to hit on heavy bags or equipment as well. Could also be suitable for sparring and other activities as well.
The fact you can box and grapple using these gloves, could be good for those looking to learn how to fight or join classes down the line. Good thorough article so far.

    1. Considering that you are not going to train too hard, the padding can take the punishment. You need to get the biggest size for sparring. I have not done much sparring in MMA with Hayabusa brand but the palm compartment does not have too much padding. While you are grappling, it will bring you an advantage. Since many MMA gloves have bigger palm compartments and these can restrict the hand and finger movement

  6. Once again, great content. Do you recommend these training gloves for women too? My wife is looking into doing some MMA training, so I wanted to get a pair of training gloves for her, but wasn’t sure if there were differences in types of gloves suitable for men vs women. What do you think?

    1. To be honest with you, there are not many differences. Women can use them too without any protection issues.

However, there are gloves which are constructed for women’s hands. After all, when we consider that women’s hands are more delicate and have low-density bones these should offer more protection.

You can find what you are looking for in Women’s MMA Gloves writing.

  7. Hello,

I hope all is well, can you tell me more about the antibacterial properties?

Like what does that help, infect smell both?

How long does that last, is it a coating or is it that actual material the gloves are made out of, how do you wash them?

Is it possible to wash them without hurting that coating?

    Thank you for your help,

    1. It gets rid of sweat so it is less likely to be invaded by bacteria. Other than this, the leather has also some properties to get rid of it. Hayabusa MMA Gloves are basically high-tech products.

You can check out this washing the MMA gloves article and learn how to wash and clean them properly.

Here I am talking about all MMA gloves. Generally, the coating of MMA gloves is quite well and I really doubt that you will ever face an issue while washing.
