Ring to Cage is one of the most trustworthy boxing companies out there. Other than Ring to Cage Boxing gloves I sparred with one of Ring to Cage headgears and carried my boxing gears with Ring to Cage boxing gym bag. I am actually a really HUGE fan of this company. With that, Ring to Cage C-17 is vastly popular however what are the reasons for that and does it truly deserve this popularity? Below you can find the answers to these questions, everything you need to know about this pair and also sizing information as well.

Firstly I want to talk about the past of Ring to Cage C-17. Unlike other companies, Ring to Cage did not stop changing main things (padding, design etc.) of the pair. Trust me on this, it actually requires a lot of hard work, research, and investment. This is why you always see that the other companies do only minor changes. When I consider all of the things, which Ring to Cage did for this pair, I can easily give Ring to Cage A+ for hard work.
Padding: It has “more balanced padding” distribution. It has also some padding at the upper side, however, it is not much. Many people actually compare padding quality of Ring to Cage to Winning! Well, I only used Ring to Cage for a month and I can easily say that I almost felt the same during punching bag sessions. There are even some people say that Ring to Cage copied Winning. The company certainly took an idea but I would not call it as “copying”. With that, I did not use it until it is useless. However, based on many forum members’ experiences, I can say that it does not start softening after 3 years! So it is fair to say that the durability certainly is more than fine.
Also, the foam is 1.5″ and absorbs the shock quite well. You can also block your sparring partner with the upper side of your glove and don’t feel much soreness after the session. Because it has some padding at the upper side however it is not much so when you punch it does not lower your punching power. According to me, this is the most important reason why many people prefer Ring to Cage’s this model for their boxing training sessions. Because, thanks to the design, you simply have better training sessions with it.
Safety: The wrist part is actually one of the most improved parts of Ring to Cage C-17. It is actually smaller and a bit taller than the old part. This change actually improves wrist safety a lot and stabilizes your wrist more. So you can use it without any issues during long heavy bag sessions.
It is suitable for every training type and according to sizing information below, you can choose Ring to Cage C-17.
Youth 8-12 oz.
101-150 LBS. 12-14 oz.
151-175 LBS. 14-16 oz.
Over 175 LBS. 16-18 oz.
Durability: Alright, if you read above you know that the padding can take a beating over 3 years. With that, high-grade cowhide can actually take a beating a lot more. So you can train more than three years with this pair. After that, the padding starts having some defects like softening etc.
Comfort (my experiences): I used this pair around a month and the meshes provide enough air so I never felt extra discomfort. The lining is thicker than the old version and can wick more moisture so it does not only provide you more comfort but it also extends the durability. The inner part is definitely softer than many other gloves and I can easily give B+ for the comfort.
Color Selections and Design: Alright this is the coolest pair which I have ever seen. It has seriously many color and design selections. I am sure that you will be amazed by them. These include Mexican-Style, lavender. It has even metallic blue and marine green colors! If you are interested, you can see all designs of Ring to Cage C-17 on Amazon.
Do You Really Get What You Pay for?
So far so good right? Actually, it gets better. There is no wonder why Ring to Cage C-17 made many best lists including mine. With that, the price tag of Ring to Cage is actually half of the other really quality pairs. I know very well that it has the best quality ratio among really quality boxing gloves and you can use it for all training types. If these are appealing to you, I highly suggest you have a look at Ring to Cage C-17. Also, it is definitely one of the most popular boxing gloves on the market.
Props to Ring to Cage!
If you have ever read one of my writing on my site, I generally write some bad things, improvements etc. about the companies and I rarely say that I completely trust this company. However, I completely trust Ring to Cage. Because I know that they work really hard and I also know that the company can spend a lot of money on everything (research, materials, design etc.). I know the first model of this pair and it truly came from a long way and it is not overpriced. Before I finish my writing, I just want to thank Ring to Cage for making boxing enthusiasts like me really happy and please keep up the good work so we can train with good quality boxing equipment 😉 Also, please keep in mind that I run an independent site so you can be sure that I am %100 honest about everything.
