Ringside Boxing Gloves Review – The Ultimate Guide

Ringside has many quality pair types including sparring, training and heavy bag. I can also say that the company generally does not overprice the gloves as many other boxing companies! With that, Ringside also produces the pairs according to many experiments and research (University studies, boxers’ experiences etc…). Actually, this approach works for many pairs. In this Ringside Boxing Gloves Review, you can find thorough overviews of all quality Ringside Gloves and sizing information. I also have experiences with one of the pairs and I included it below.

Without further ado let’s start with the most quality pair…

Ringside Pro Style IMF Tech Training Gloves

Protection Rating: 9.5 / 10.0

Training Quality Rating: 9.0 / 10.0

Durability: 8.8 / 10

Quality / Price Rating: 9.1 / 10.0

Pros

  • Lasts more than 3 years
  • Suitable for every training type
  • Perfect for sparring
  • Has ALL safety features
  • Soft injected padding
  • No break-in period
  • The most quality gloves of Ringside!

This pair’s padding is made with the latest technology and it will give same punching experience for a very long time (more than 3 years!). It also has no break-in period so you can start having same quality punching experience as soon as you put on the pair. It also has wrap around feature. It basically secures your wrists incredibly well and it is generally found in heavy bag gloves. With that, this glove is suitable for every training type including punch mitts, double end bag, heavy bag… However, it is simply incredible for sparring. Because, the padding is mostly concentrated on the front part of the pair and injected padding is soft so you won’t hurt your knuckles or sparring partner a lot 😉

Also, it has a segmented cuff and I actually love this quality since it provides extra wrist support. This quality makes it ideal for people who want to avoid wrist injuries.

According to many posts on boxing forums and my trainer’s experiences, you can expect to use Ringside Pro Style more than 3 years and when you consider this and the price, the quality-price ratio is actually quite good.
If you are interested in getting good training performance from every training type, I highly suggest you pick up Ringside Pro Style IMF. It also gives you decent quality training performance for years without rough spots. You can choose this really quality pair according to sizing information below.

101-150 LBS. 14 oz.
151-175 LBS. 14-16 oz.
Over 175 LBS. 16-18 oz.

It is also very easy to wear and take it off with hook & loop closure.

Ringside Apex IMF Tech Flash

Ringside Apex IMF Tech Flash Boxing ReviewProtection Rating: 9.0 / 10.0

Training Quality Rating: 8.7 / 10.0

Durability: 8.2 / 10

Quality / Price Rating: 9.6 / 10.0

Pros

  • Lasts more than 2 years
  • Suitable for every training type
  • Has ALL safety features
  • Soft injected padding
  • The most popular Ringside pair
  • Many awesome color selections
  • You get more than what you pay

Ringside Apex has a bit less padding than the pair above. With that the padding type is same. It is also injected and soft. The design is a bit different and it has less padding at the upper side. So after sparring sessions, you can actually expect to have a bit more soreness in your hands with this pair. However, you can do every training type with it. This includes focus mitts, double end bag, heavy bag etc.

The cover material has less quality than the pair above however you will have at least 2 years durability with it and decent training sessions. You can also find every safety quality in this pair including attached thumb and decent wrist support. Ringside Apex IMF Tech Flash is all around decent quality pair. Considering all of these, it has a really good price. If you are interested, check out the latest price on Amazon. It has also many color selections including red, white, and green.

Ringside Heritage Super Bag Gloves

overview of Ringside Heritage Super Bag GlovesProtection Rating: 9.0 / 10.0

Training Quality Rating: 9.1 / 10.0

Durability: 8.5 / 10

Quality / Price Rating: 8.3 / 10.0

Exclusive Features

  • Lasts more than 3 years
  • Ideal for heavy bag sessions
  • Punch faster with it
  • Solid wrist support
  • Cool looks

It is made of very quality leather which is cowhide and generally Ringside does not produce pairs with genuine leather. Of course, the price is the biggest factor. With that, Ringside Heritage is made of cowhide and it is sturdy. Also according to many boxing forum members, cushioning feels “natural” and it does not have any defects at least 3 years!

Anyway, Ringside Heritage has premium and lots of padding. After you punch the heavy bag, the padding comes to “zero-state” in no time. Thanks to this feature your knuckles always face the minimum shock because the padding is always at “zero-state” to protect you. Ringside uses a different padding type, which is foam, for Heritage and as a side note, many other good bag gloves also have foam.

As you can see in the picture, it has more padding density at the front side and it helps you punch a bit faster than usual. As you can guess, this just provides incredible punching bag sessions and “wrap around” secures your wrist pretty well. It simply has all necessary safety and training performance qualities for punching bag sessions. As a final note, I trained with Heritage series before and these always had top-notch quality.

Ringside Apex Boxing Gloves

Protection Rating: 8.5 / 10.0

Training Quality Rating: 8.1 / 10.0

Durability: 8.0 / 10

Quality / Price Rating: 9.3 / 10.0

Exclusive Features

  • Lasts around 2 years
  • Suitable for all training types
  • Good thermal regulating qualities
  • Cheapest pair which has decent quality
  • A myriad of color selections

It has attached thumb and all qualities like wrist wrap for protecting your hands. Even though these are not premium your hands will be “safe”.

Also, your hands will be comfortable since Ringside training type gloves on this list have the same lining and thermal regulating qualities and these also get above average ratings from verified purchases. I also have experiences with another Ringside training pair and I had not have any issues about comfort.

Apex has “alright” leather quality and according to many online reviews on forums, you can train with it more than 2 years. Also, it has a really cheap price and decent quality. So if you are on a budget and want to do all training types, check out Ringside Apex.

Final Thoughts

Ringside obviously is a good boxing company and has lots of quality models on the market. Among all pairs, Ringside Pro IMF stands out the most. It has really quality padding, all safety features and no break-in period. This pair also made many best lists and this training type pair is preferred a lot in boxing gyms. If these are appealing to you, definitely get your own Ringside Pro Style IMF. I appreciate your long term quality perspective with these gloves. As you pointed out, being considerate of your sparring partner has significant importance. Thanks for the review.

    • Furkan says:

It is the most important thing to protect your partner while you learn boxing skills. And Ringside is really good about producing sparring pairs.

  2. Anubhav says:

    A great review.
Which one would you recommend for a beginner?

  3. Hi Furkan,
It’s amazing how far technology has come in this area considering boxers started out with just some bandages around their hands lol. I can’t believe all the great features of these gloves, and they are good value for money. I do a bit of boxercise and I know just how easily you can hurt yourself with bad technique or even just a bad glove. I have hurt my wrists and often my thumb as well on occasion so I really should think about investing in a pair of good quality boxing gloves. Thanks

    • Furkan says:

Yeah I know that many people who do boxercise and their wrists get hurt quite often. So investing money for a good quality pair can be the solution. As you said Ringside Gloves are made by latest technology and above there are definitely good quality pairs.

  4. Joseph says:

Very informative article, Furkan. I had no idea there was so much variety available when it comes to boxing gloves. Do they actually carry these in any stores or is it best to order them online?

    • Furkan says:

Actually, if you have the opportunity, just buy it online. You can choose it according to sizing information and the gloves in this writing have pretty good fitting rates.

  5. Peter says:

    Hi Furkan,
great review on the Ringside brand, thanks! It’s always better to listen to the more experienced person and her you are, giving us the advice we need 🙂
If you should recommend, would you say that Ringside is the best option for sparring or can it be any other brand? Thanks!

  6. Steve says:

I have been thinking about diversifying my workouts and taking a boxing class. When you say these will last 2 or 3 years, how often are you using them? Is that 3 times per week, every day?

    • Furkan says:

Man if you use these for regular training routines (mitts etc.) for 3-4 times per week then it will last 2-3 years. However, if you use a training type Ringside Gloves every day, the durability will be not that much.

  7. Anna says:

    Hi Furkan,
I think if you take any boxing gloves made by Ringside, it will be a winner in its segment.
My son is a happy owner of their junior collection and they are incredible! He will need an adult size this year and I was in active search for a pair of boxing gloves for him.
I know that the boxing gloves is not a cheap purchase, but if you have to buy, better to get the best of the best to last you longer.
My son does not do much sparing so we definitely need to look into the punch boxing gloves first. We really love Ringside Heritage Super Bag Gloves. They look cool! My son does not have big wrists, so it is a big bonus that this pair can easily be fixed on his wrists. And I like the fact that they have top-notch quality.

    • Furkan says:

As you said Ringside’s some pairs have superior quality but not all ; )
If he does not do sparring, you made a right call and working on a bag with Ringside Heritage is simply a different experience. When you consider the wrist support, its design is different and a bit more snug fit than the others. Protecting wrists is also my first preference as well and as you said if he does not lean on other training types much, Heritage will be good for him.
