Fighting Sports Boxing Gloves Review – The Complete Guide

Fighting sports produces all kinds of boxing equipment and it is one of the most authoritative boxing companies. I personally used their speed bag and it gave great rebound rate. So what about their boxing gloves? Are these any good? Fighting Sports has some amazing boxing gloves and some average pairs. However, their quality is always above average. And actually, they put ALL safety features to all products.

In this complete guide, you can find Fighting Sports Boxing Gloves review and my experiences with some of the pairs as well. Let’s start with the most quality pair’s features and continue with sizing chart for your hand.

Fighting Sports S2 Gel Power Training Gloves

Training Quality Rating: 9.3 / 10.0

Durability: 8.7 / 10

Pros

  • Full grain leather
  • Ideal for all training types
  • Have all safety features
  • Incredible padding quality
  • Very quality choice for punching bag training
  • Quality leather
  • Snug fit

First of all this one has full grain leather and three layers of shock absorbing foam. These three layers minimize the effect of the impact and provide longer durability. These features simply make this pair ideal for all training types including heavy bag, sparring and focus mitts. Glove’s padding has serious deformation during heavy bag training and thanks to this feature it won’t affect the durability and you can use it during long sessions.

Ringside also uses this technology for its Apex series and it also gets good reviews as well.

It has also double wrist wrap and stabilizes your wrists very well. I actually greatly appreciate this feature because it is simply essential for heavy bag session. I have a problematic right wrist and I am very careful about wrist safety features and if you have any problems with your wrists, you can use this pair with ease.

Its liner technology is also superior and get rids of sweat pretty well. Considering all these qualities you get very good value for your money. It also gets amazing feedback from boxing forums and if you think of getting Fighting Sports pair, Fighting Sports S2 should be your new gloves. It is also velcro and very easy to wear and take it off. And as a side note, it is my first choice as well!

Fighting Sports Tri-Tech Training Gloves

Fighting Sports Tri-Tech Training Gloves ReviewProtection Rating: 9.5 / 10.0

Training Quality Rating: 8.8 / 10.0

Durability: 8.8 / 10

Quality / Price Rating: 9.5 / 10.0

Pros

  • Full grain leather
  • Ideal for all training types
  • Almost no break-in period
  • Have all safety features
  • Good padding quality
  • Great quality price ratio

This pair is definitely one of the great pairs of Fighting Sports.

Firstly it has no break-in period and you can start having “natural striking experience” as soon as you wear them.

With that, this one’s padding quality gets “average” feedback. It is alright however it is just not good as the S2 Gel (pair above).

I checked the material of padding and its second layer consists of different material. I know a lot about this topic but I am definitely not an expert, however, this just might be the reason.

Also, its liner is very soft, comfy and gets rid of moisture as well.

Fighting Sports Training Gloves has quality and will give you more quality training sessions than most of the products in this price range. And let’s not forget that you won’t have any break in time with this pair and I think it is a huge plus. It has also very good quality-price ratio as well.

Fighting Sports Tri-Tech Bag/Sparring Gloves

Fighting Sports Tri-Tech Bag/Sparring Gloves ReviewProtection Rating: 9.5 / 10.0

Training Quality Rating: 8.5 / 10.0

Durability: 8.7 / 10

Quality / Price Rating: 9.0 / 10.0

Pros

  • Full grain leather
  • Suitable for heavy bag and sparring
  • Have all safety features
  • Good padding quality
  • Cool design

Fighting Tri Tech also uses three different layers for its padding and this pair is exclusively made for punching bag and sparring training. Its wrist compartment is tighter than usual yet this pair is comfortable.

This one also uses grain leather and has same qualities as rest of the pairs. It has same moisture wicking features and comfortable, soft hand liner.

Tri Tech has three layers of padding and its padding types are the same of the first pair’s (Fighting Sports S2) and it provides really good and smooth punching experience. However, Tri Tech’s ratings are slightly lower than the first pair. And the reason is its design.

Its padding is concentrated close to wrist area and it makes your punches “slightly” slower than the first one. Obviously, you don’t want to punch slower during heavy bag session but let’s not forget the sparring. When you block your sparring partner’s glove with upper-side of your glove, the padding will take the impact and you won’t feel a thing. Depending on your training type, this feature can be a minus or a plus. So if this pair suitable for you, you should definitely consider it.

If you will do many sparring sessions, Fighting Tri Tech can be ideal for you. In my opinion, it also has very cool design too.

Conclusive Thoughts

These are quality boxing gloves however S2 Gel Power is just superior to others. It provides good padding quality (3 layers of quality padding) and also its design is just more suitable for punching power. You can also do all training types with it. And its leather can take up hard and constant punishment for years and still won’t have any rough spots at least 3 years.  If these are appealing to you, get S2 Gel Power on Amazon. As a side note, It is also suggested in a myriad of boxing gyms for more advanced trainees.

Thoughts about the Company

Fighting Sports always provides quality pairs and their pairs are generally for all training types. And this company uses very quality padding for some of its pairs. But they don’t have any pair exclusively for heavy bag. I know also some other companies which don’t produce pairs exclusively for punching bag session. I hope these all will in future because thanks to padding quality I am sure that they will produce amazing products.

Also, most Fighting Sports pairs have only black and white color selection. If they can add more colors I am sure that it will help them to sell more 😉

I hope you enjoyed reading Fighting Sports Boxing Gloves review and if you have any questions or experiences please let me know in the comment section.

  1. Very nice write up – as someone who has done a good amount of boxing training in the past, I appreciate your in depth breakdowns of each pair of gloves. I can agree with you that wrist support is crucial, especially for heavy bag work. Keep it up.

    1. Wrist support is really vital and not many people, who even have punched heavy bag for years, do not have any idea about it.
You are definitely conscious and I really appreciate this too 😉

  2. These all look pretty good, but I really like the design of the S2 Gel Power Training Gloves. The fact that it has a double wrist wrap is pretty awesome!

I’ve read about some beginners who would use punching bags without using any wraps inside of their gloves and they ended up breaking some of the small bones in their hands. You always want to make sure you train with the right gear!

    1. Hi Nick I am glad to see you here again man, S2 Gel will do the job and it is one of the most important reason why this pair is so popular.
Exactly man you heard it right unfortunately many people don’t use hand wraps for boxing. I hope that will change.

  3. After doing Tae Known Do for a short while, boxing is something I would like to try next. 🙂

So I’ve decided to check out the web to find some of the best boxing gloves out there. Yeah, I would be a newbie at it, but I would still like great quality gloves for training with.

From this review, I can see there are a bunch of awesome boxing gloves to choose from. I think I prefer the sports training gloves all in white for that more natural striking effect.

I guess I can upgrade my gloves, the more experienced I get at boxing.

Thanks for a great review on some of the fighting sports gloves on the market.

    Neil

    1. Hi Neil,
Fighting Sports has many good quality boxing gloves and as you said Sports training gloves are just a step ahead of others and this or Hayabusa will be next choice. But Fighting Sports is cheaper so I will probably go with this one 😉

  4. Interesting reviews on fighting gloves. These all look like top quality pairs. I took Tae Kwon Do when I was younger, and like watching MMA, and boxing. If I was a younger man, I would like to compete in the mixed martial arts. Wish we had it when I was a young buck. I will send my younger friends here if they are looking for these type products. Thanks for the info. Tom

    1. Man it is never too late to put on boxing gloves ; ) Yeah, I got many comments from many adults who stated they want to take MMA classes and I know many gyms which give trial periods so you can check it out see yourself. Maybe you will like it. I also really appreciate if you can send anyone to this page ; )

  5. OnlineBzDog - TQ

Ok, I do not know that you need a different pair of boxing gloves for a different thing: training, sparring, fighting. etc. I always thought any boxing gloves will do, no differences. I have learned so much about boxing gloves in one night. lol. This is great.

    1. Yeah if one person is more advanced, he/she will definitely need different pairs of different training types. If you need any more information just check out the other posts I have plenty of posts about boxing gloves and differences.

  6. Thank you for such a detailed review. I’m so happy I came across this post as I am looking to purchase some gloves this week. I have boxed before, however, this was many years ago and am looking to get back into it. Mainly for fitness reasons. I have quite weak wrists, are there any gloves you would recommend that provide extra support on the wrists?

    1. Weak wrists are many people’s problem including mine and if you don’t get a glove, which has serious wrist support, you can easily injury as it is quite common in boxing.

Fighting Sports S2 will be a good choice for you because not only it has amazing wrist support it also provides you to punch without having proper technique all the time because it has protective padding as well.
